Current Members

The members of Mosaic Belly Dance reflect a wide range of experience, talents and style. The troupe began as a group of students who wanted to practice together outside of class. However, we soon found our own creative voice. Since then, we have continued to explore different styles and genres of bellydance and music.

Katie

Katie Katie began belly dance classes in 2011, and was quickly hooked, despite her lack of prior dancing experience. In 2012, she began performing with Unveiled's student troupe, Veiled Threat. She has also taken classes with Coral Rose at the Ann Arbor Aviary. When not dancing, she is a materials scientist and avid costumer. Her hair is only blue in photographs. She currently studies with Hannah Mullins and Heather Marie regularly, and strives to take a wide variety of workshops. Katie also wrote this website text, and feels very strange talking about herself in the third person.

Bryan

Bryan Bryan began dancing in June 2013 with Coral Rose at the Ann Arbor Aviary. After being coaxed out from behind the camera lens, he has proven to be a rapid learner with an eye for group formations. He debuted with the troupe at the 2014 Michigan Middle Eastern Dance Championship. Bryan also performs as a soloist, and studies with Hannah Mullins and Unveiled Ann Arbor. He and Katie also perform as a duet, which debuted at Ooky Spooky in 2015.

Sandy

Sandy

Sandy has been doing belly dance for some undisclosed number of years. She enjoys solo improvosation with a variety of props, including cane and fan veils, and is excited to add isis wings to her repetoire. She also poses for pinup photographs, and loves skulls. After a break for knee surgery, Sandy is back dancing again! In addition to dancing with Mosaic, she studies with Kelly Hassan and the One Spirit Dance company. Sandy is one of the founding members of the group, having danced with Veiled Threat at haflas.
